Bone Web

Bone Web artwork

On the island I live there is a myth of a spider as large as a wolf that creates its web from bones.

This artwork was originally a photo of dead ivy branches reaching upwards from the top of a ferntree. After playing with it for a while it reminded me more of a spiders web, but made from something a bit more solid. So I had to figure out how it would work, how does a web made of bones catch prey?

I do have the answer, but it will need to wait until after the FIXATE exhibition when I have time to sit down and write the full story.

Joy this post is terrifying lol! I would hate to meet a spider that big! I actually really enjoyed this though, it did set my mind thinking, albeit along a rather scary spidery track! Megan x

So would I! Huntsmen are too big already haha. I may have to disjoint myself a bit from the subject matter when I write the full story, and maybe not write in the evenings.
Glad you liked it though 🙂 Thank you!

I must admit I nearly fled when I read the words “a spider as larger as”, but I read your post because as much as a spider like that would be terrifying I was intrigued by your story 🙂

      Thanks Sarah 🙂
Glad the story seems to be grabbing everyone’s interest even though it’s a scary subject!
